Technical SEO is unglamorous and it is usually where the first real gains are. Most sites we inherit are not short of content — they are carrying structural problems that cap everything the content could do.

What we find most often

Problem How it shows up Typical impact
Keyword cannibalisation Many URLs targeting one intent, none of them strong The most common cap we see, and the most fixable
Indexation loss Pages excluded by canonical, robots or noindex errors Content that cannot rank because it is not eligible
Broken migrations Old URLs returning 404 with no redirect Historic authority and traffic silently discarded
Pagination and faceting Deep inventory never crawled Large catalogues effectively invisible
JavaScript rendering Crawlers receive an empty shell The most expensive problem to fix late
Duplicate or conflicting schema Theme and plugin both emitting markup Rich results suppressed entirely

How the audit works

  1. Full crawl — every URL: status, canonical, robots directives, headings, internal links, payload.
  2. Cross-reference with Search Console — so we prioritise by pages that have or had traffic, not by raw issue count.
  3. Log and render checks — what crawlers actually receive, including AI user agents.
  4. Prioritised fix list — ordered by revenue impact, with effort estimates. Not a 400-row spreadsheet dump.
  5. Implementation — we do the work, or brief your developers precisely enough that they can.

Migrations

URL changes, replatforming and domain moves are where sites lose the most traffic fastest. Our rules are boring on purpose: one-to-one permanent redirects, never a mass redirect to the homepage, internal links rewritten to final destinations so no chains form, sitemaps resubmitted, redirects retained indefinitely, and a measured baseline captured before anything changes so regression is detectable.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a technical audit take?

One to two weeks for most sites. Very large catalogues take longer, mostly in crawling and log analysis.

Can you implement fixes or only recommend them?

Both. We implement directly where we have access, or write developer-ready specifications.

Will technical work alone improve rankings?

It removes ceilings. On sites with real structural problems the lift can be substantial; on healthy sites the gain is small and honesty requires saying so up front.

Do you handle site migrations?

Yes, including baseline capture, redirect mapping, and post-migration monitoring for 8–12 weeks.

Where does your brand stand in AI answers?

Send us your domain. We run the baseline and send your Mention Rate, Citation Rate and competitor board — no charge, no commitment.
